Pheasants Forever Chapters
When Pheasants Forever was formed in 1982, the founding Board of Directors conceived a simple, and yet, revolutionary concept, unique among conservation organizations. Pheasants Forever created a system of county chapters whereby 100% of the net funds raised by chapters remains at the local level. This provides tremendous incentive to raise money because people can see the direct results of their contributions.
Each Pheasants Forever chapter maintains local control over its funds and establishes its own habitat and education programs, customized to meet the needs of and to benefit the local area.
Pheasants Forever now has over 630 chapters in 29 states across the country. Several chapters also have been formed in Canada. One of the primary benefits of belonging to Pheasants Forever is the opportunity for camaraderie with other people concerned about maintaining and rebuilding the proper habitat for pheasants in your area.
Join an Existing Chapter
When you join an existing Pheasants Forever chapter, you have the opportunity to establish wildlife habitat in your area, attend meetings and participate in fundraising activities.
Pheasants Forever chapter members are a diversified group of hunters, non-hunters, farmers, landowners, conservation enthusiasts and wildlife officials. Chapters usually meet once a month to socialize about hunting, dogs and other common interests - as well as to discuss fundraising events, habitat restoration projects and conservation issues.
The most successful fundraising event for Pheasants Forever chapters is the annual banquet, which features a lively evening of dinner and raffles and auctions for guns, art work, pheasant-related gift items and clothing. Other popular fundraising ideas include wild game dinners, golf tournaments, dog training seminars and shooting events.

Jun-27-2008 - Portland area conservationists recently established the Portland Metro Chapter of Pheasants Forever (PF). The new chapter will work to improve wildlife habitat in five northeastern Oregon Counties: Gilliam, Morrow, Umatilla, Wheeler, and Sherman. The Portland Metro chapter was created from the outpouring of support found during the nearby Columbia Plateau Chapter of PF's membership drive. "The membership drive went so well for the Heppner-based Columbia Plateau chapter that community members decided they wanted a chapter of their own in the actual metro area," explained Kraig Paulson, Regional Wildlife Biologist for PF. The chapter looks to build upon the success and partnerships the Columbia Plateau chapter has had with the Oregon Wildlife Heritage Foundation (OWHF) and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. ...more

New North Dakota Pheasants Forever Chapter Forms in Burke and Divide CountiesJun-09-2008 - Conservationists and upland hunters in North Dakota's Burke and Divide Counties have formed the state's newest Pheasants Forever (PF) chapter, the Northwest Ringnecks Chapter of PF. The state's 25th PF chapter - already over 40 members strong - is dedicated to habitat improvement that benefits pheasants, upland birds and other wildlife. The Northwest Ringnecks chapter's chief habitat goal will be establishing winter cover and enhancing that winter cover with food plots, according to Laurie Chrest, the chapter's newly-elected president and a resident of Lignite. Located in the northwest corner of the state, Burke and Divide Counties are in an area where the availability of winter cover – such as woody areas or cattails – is a significant limiting factor for pheasant populations. "Working with landowners to establish cover and food plots is something we can do to help the birds combat the severe winters they may face in this region," Chrest said. ...more
