Workplace Giving Programs

Pheasants Forever is part of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and is eligible to receive workplace donations. Our CFC Number is 11794.

Matching Gifts from Your Employer or Foundation

Many employers offer a Matching Gift Program for their employees. When you make a donation to Pheasants Forever, please check with your employer to see if they can offer a matching gift. These matches can double your donation to Pheasants Forever!

Planned Giving or Estate Planning

Pheasants Forever has created the Habitat Legacy Society to offer suggestions as you consider your estate planning process! We did this because the US Tax Code allows each person to manage the distribution of our estates through careful planning in order that your assets will be shared with heirs or nonprofit organizations of your choice. Without such planning, governmental units determine how assets are distributed. Any final plans must be done by you with your financial advisor, accountant or lawyer, but we can get you started! When you have made your plans, you may be eligible for the Habitat Legacy Society.

Donations of Stock or other non-cash items

If you wish to receive the largest tax benefit possible for your gift, you should transfer stocks to Pheasants Forever for our disposition. If you sell the stock you will be responsible for capital gains taxes; if you transfer it, you will benefit from its appreciated value and receive a tax deduction.

Donations of Real Estate

Real estate can be handled as either a planned gift or a direct current gift. In some cases, through the resources of our chapters, we arrange to purchase land on a "philanthropic sale" basis whereby you are paid for part of the assessed value and then get a charitable donation for another portion. For example, you may sell the property to Pheasants Forever for 75% of its assessment and receive a charitable donation for the 25% balance.

The Habitat Legacy Society

Those who identify Pheasants Forever in their estate planning documents (Will Bequests, Trusts, etc.) and those who enter into planned gifts such as annuities or philanthropy sales of land (see Donations of Real Estate) are eligible to be members of the Habitat Legacy Society. The Society will have special events such as estate planning seminars, receptions at events, recognition in the Annual Report and a newsletter to stay in touch with our "insider" land stewards.
